WATERMAIN FLUSHING

Hello San Pareil Residents:

I have been advised that the Water Main Flushing for San Pareil will start in early February.

Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) water system operators will be flushing (cleaning) watermains in the RDN Water Service Areas as part of the annual watermain maintenance program.

Residents will be notified a week prior to the flushing in their area via sandwich boards and/or message board. Notices will also go directly to RDN water service customers who are signed up to Voyent Alert!, the RDN’s notification app. To learn more and to sign up to receive alerts from the RDN, visit rdn.bc.ca/rdn-alerts.

Water Service Area customers should expect temporary disruption of service, intermittent drops in water pressure and water discolouration between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Between February 1 and March 31, 2026. Please do laundry only in the evenings or on the weekends and ensure that you have sufficient water for the day. The RDN is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of discoloured water.

Important note: If you notice any discolouration in your water after flushing, please run your cold water taps until the water runs clear. Water is still safe to use and consume.
